Privacy policy

Loop Coach ("we", "our", "the app") helps you plan training, nutrition and track physique progress. This page explains what data we collect, how we collect it, how it's used, and your choices.

Information you provide

• Account info — name and sign-in identifier when you create an account (e.g. Sign in with Apple).
• Profile & goals — age, height, weight, training goals, dietary preferences, entered during onboarding.
• Training & nutrition logs — workouts you log, weekly check-ins, weight entries, meals and hydration you track in the app.
• Coach chat messages — questions you send to the AI coach, and any photos you attach to them.
• Photos and videos you choose to add — meal photos, physique/progress photos, written-program photos, and exercise-form videos you capture or upload.

AI coach chat — what's shared with OpenAI

The AI coach only answers with AI after you explicitly allow it the first time you use the chat. If you allow it, each message you send is forwarded by our backend to OpenAI to generate the reply, together with:

• Your message text, recent chat history, and any photo you attached.
• Your fitness context, so the reply is personalized: name, goal and goal pace, training discipline, equipment, training program and logged workouts, weight and check-in history, height, biological sex, activity level, calorie and macro targets, meals and hydration logged today, and dietary preferences.

OpenAI processes this data to return the coach's reply and does not use it to train their models. We do not sell this data or share it with data brokers or advertisers. If you decline — or revoke consent later under Profile → Privacy — the built-in on-device coach answers instead and nothing is sent off your device.

AI photo & video analysis — what's shared with OpenAI

Meal photos, physique photos, written-program photos and exercise-form videos are only analyzed by AI after you explicitly allow it the first time you use any of those features. If you allow it:

• The photo or video frames, plus basic context (e.g. your stated training goal), are sent to our backend and forwarded to OpenAI for one-time analysis (e.g. estimating meal calories, reading your physique or written program, or checking exercise form) — and, for physique projections, to our image-generation provider.
• OpenAI processes this data to return a result to the app and does not use it to train their models.
• We do not sell this data or share it with data brokers or advertisers.

You can revoke this permission any time in the app under Profile → Privacy; declining or revoking means the app falls back to manual entry or on-device estimates instead of sending anything.

How we use your data

• To generate your training program, nutrition targets and coaching guidance.
• To answer your coach chat questions when you've allowed AI replies.
• To estimate meal nutrition, read written programs, check exercise form and track physique progress when you request AI analysis.
• To sync your data across your devices via your account.
• To improve the app (anonymous analytics, if enabled in Settings).

Data storage & retention

Your profile data and photos are stored securely with our cloud backend, tied to your account, and retained until you delete them or delete your account. Photos are stored privately and are not accessible to other users. Coach chat messages are processed to generate the reply and are not used for advertising.

Your choices

• Revoke AI coach chat or AI photo/video analysis consent any time (Profile → Privacy).
• Request a data export or account deletion by contacting us below.
• Turn off anonymous analytics in Settings.

Third parties

We use the following processors to operate the app: our cloud database/auth provider (Supabase), and OpenAI (only for the AI coach chat and photo/video analysis you've explicitly allowed). These processors are bound by data-processing agreements that require protection equal to this policy, and OpenAI does not use your data to train their models.

Children

Loop Coach is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
